The Lone Sailor Maritime Memorial
The Lone Sailor Maritime Memorial is a bronze statue of a sailor overlooking the ocean in Bluff Park, on the coast of Long Beach. The statue is a replica of a statue by sculptor Stanley Bleifeld that sits in the plaza of the United States Navy Memorial in Washington DC. The memorial was erected on Ocean Boulevard at Paloma Avenue on October 13, 2004 to mark the 229th anniversary of the United States Navy.
